Air might not be the first thing to come to mind when you think about fluid conveyance, but air brakes and other systems that move air (also called pneumatics) combine with hydraulics for the fluid conveyance category.

This week, we’re looking at some of our top air brake products and how they can help your business thrive.

DOT Air Brake Fittings

Our air brake fittings fall under three categories: copper line, nylon line and push-in.

Nylon line air brake fittings are used for brake systems except where temperatures exceed 200°F or where battery acid can drip on tubing.

Push-in air brake fittings are a cost-effective solution for most DOT applications. They’re available in brass (regular and extreme temperature) or composite.

Emergency DOT Repair Kits

This emergency repair kit for brass reduces costly downtime and allows equipment to quickly get back on the road. Once the problem is located, use the tubing cutter to cut out the damaged area, then install the properly sized push-to-connect fitting onto the tubing to create an air-tight seal.

It’s easily stored in a glove compartment or on a service truck.

We offer similar kits for Kimposite fittings as well as Parker® fittings.

We also are featuring bundles to help you get your DOT needs in order with a single purchase.

Brass DOT Air Brake Fittings with Kimposite Tubing Bundle

This bundle features a comprehensive set of quick connect DOT air brake fittings to go with tubing from 1/4" to 3/4".

It also comes with 100 feet of three sizes (1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2") of Kimposite air brake tubing, which offers superior abrasion resistance and a wide operating temperature.

The bundle tops off all those great products with a large drawer roller rack and a tubing and cable rack to keep your shop organized.

Kimposite DOT Air Brake Fittings with Kimposite Tubing Bundle

This bundle comes with the same great Kimposite air brake tubing, but instead features composite push-to-connect fittings for superior value and convenience.

If you work with DOT air brakes, one or more of these products probably is right for your shop. For more information or to place an order, check in with your Kimball Midwest sales representative. If you don’t have one, we’d love to help you Find a Rep!
