Kimball Midwest has started rolling out updated labels for our Kimball Midwest branded chemical products. If you’ve ordered our paint products in recent months, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen our new look in action.
These updates refresh the look of our packaging without changing the high-quality contents inside the can. The changes also support new regulatory requirements, so it’s easier than ever to identify the right product quickly and confidently.
Why We’re Updating Labels
Along with meeting regulatory requirements, these changes are designed to make product identification clearer on the shelf, in the shop and in the field, especially when you’re moving fast and need to grab the right chemical the first time.
What’s New
- A clearer product-line indicator: A vertical bar now highlights the product line name, such as Penetrating Oil, Heavy-Duty Hand Cleaner or Degreaser.
- More intuitive naming: The main product name aligns with the product description to make it immediately clear what the product does.
- Streamlined benefits: Features and benefits are now focused on three key bullet points on the label. Full features and benefits will still be available in our catalog and on our website.
Color Coding is Here to Help
Each product type will have a distinct label color:
- Cleaners and Solvents: Yellow
- Lubricants: Red
- Adhesives and Sealants: White
- Automotive: Blue
- Electrical: Green
- Special Purpose: Navy
- Hand Care: Light Gray
- Odor Control: Dark Gray
- Paints: Black
- Cutting Fluids: Orange
- Ultra Guard: Black and Gold
Some product groups will also use secondary color coding, including RTV silicones, hand care, and air fresheners and other scent-control products. Secondary colors are designed to help with product identification and/or the scent of the product, where applicable.
