That means it’s time to start winterizing the shop. Kimball Midwest is here to help with your preparations against shorter days and drops in temperatures. Shorter days mean less daylight to work in. If you don’t have efficient lighting, productivity will fall, and accuracy can lessen. There are three lighting options Kimball Midwest recommends for reaching optimal lighting efficiency in your shop. The [LED High Bay Light](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/281003) has a lumen output of 14,000 with a 120° beam angle that provides high coverage, bright light for warehouses, shops, garages and more. On the lighting, the three-wire pigtail allows for hardwiring into building circuits or adding a plug for temporary applications. It’s perfect for temporary use during the winter months. The [Quantum™ Charge 2](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/281822) provides 1,000 lumens of bright diffuse light to illuminate a wide area. With a screw-on magnetic mount and charged via USB cord (not included in purchase), this is the perfect portable light. For a smaller lighting solution, the [Quantum™ Pro LED Pen Light](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/832571) is a perfect maintenance light. The super thin pen-style design makes this light easy to store in a pocket or toolbox for quick and easy access. The drop in temperatures creates the safety hazards of ice and snow that can cause slips and falls for customers and workers. To prevent this hazard and protect those in your workplace, you can use [Liquid Ice Melt](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/All-Products/Chemicals/ice-melt), [Traction-Max Non-Skid Epoxy Coating](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/80933) and [Traction Tape or Pre-Cut Stair Tread Traction Tape](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/All-Products/Adhesives-Sealants-and-Tapes/Tapes/Traction-Tapes). In addition to preventing hazards of slipping and falling and less daylight, it’s important to make sure your equipment is ready for the winter. [Corro-Ban Rust Preventative](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/80760) and [Ultra Guard 2 Extreme Winter Grease](https://www.kimballmidwest.com/80296) will do the job in keeping your equipment going all winter long. To make sure you are fully prepared for the incoming winter, Kimball Midwest is here to help with any winterizing that needs done at your shop.
