If you’ve read this blog before, you know we like to brag about our private label products. Why? Well, we’d tell you it’s because we think they are some of the best on the market.

And if you were looking for an independent case study, here’s one that will absolutely floor you.

Keep this number in mind: 4,260.

It’s the number one of our sales reps can’t get out of his head. That’s the number of holes one 1/4-inch Super Primalloy Cryo-Gen drill bit cut, blowing away a prospective customer.

One day, this sales rep was calling on a prospect and showing him our Super Primalloy drill bits. The customer had a friend there who happened to be vice president of a local family-owned business. The friend asked what the cost was of the Cryo-Gen bit.

The VP balked, saying it was higher than what he typically pays for drill bits.

Our sales rep, however, shrugged and gave him the facts about the drill bits, reminding him the Cryo-Gen were hardened and coated with nitride.

In fact, according to our Product Line Department, we don’t even consider giving our cutting tools the Cryo-Gen treatment unless it is already the best tool on the market.

Our rep knew this and gave him a challenge. He gave a 1/4-inch bit to take with him. When the rep’s phone rang a few weeks later, he was pleased with what he heard.

The rep said the phone call went like this: “He said, ‘Well, you made a believer out of me.’ I asked him what he meant, and he said he drilled 4,260 holes without any lubrication with that one drill bit.”

The rep was nearly speechless, but asked him to repeat the number, since he clearly could not have heard that correctly. But it was indeed 4,260 holes.

It turned out this business mounted the 1/4-inch bit into a 2,000-pound drill press and was drilling through ¼-inch mild steel.

The rep continued to gather information. It turned out the drill bits the customer used previously gave him about 400-500 holes. That makes the Cryo-Gen 900% better and saves the customer plenty of money before accounting for the downtime of purchasing and changing bits in the drill press.

“It’s a great bit, and some other items customers rave about is our cutting fluids,” the rep said. “I’m proud to sell quality, American-made products. The nitride plating makes all the difference on those bits. For me, customer feedback and customer satisfaction are what steers the bus."

So, if you want to try out some of the best drill bits on the market, all you have to do is Find a Rep!
